Isaiah 28:11-12 ESV For by people of strange lips and with a foreign tongue the LORD ( יהוה ) will speak to this people, (12) to whom he has said, "This is rest; give rest to the weary; and this is repose"; yet they would not hear.

Isaiah 28:11-12 GW The LORD ( יהוה ) will speak to these people. He will mock them by speaking in a foreign language. (12) He will say to them, "This is a place for comfort. This is a place of rest for those who are tired. This is a place for them to rest." But they weren't willing to listen.

Isaiah 28:11-12 CEV So, the Lord ( יהוה ) will speak to his people in strange sounds and foreign languages. (12) He promised you perfect peace and rest, but you refused to listen.

Isaiah 28:11-12 GNB If you won't listen to me, then God ( יהוה ) will use foreigners speaking some strange-sounding language to teach you a lesson. (12) He offered rest and comfort to all of you, but you refused to listen to him.
